Following many years as an art teacher, I have been printmaking seriously since 2011. Until recently I have worked mainly in intaglio; etching, drypoint and collagraph and less often using relief; lino and woodcut. I enjoy using layers and utilising more than one plate, for example layering collagraph with drypoint. I am beginning to work more with monoprint, layering colour and texture with a variety of marks. I get very absorbed in the making of a plate and indeed the whole process; inking, applying colour and tone, and then the excitement and anticipation when a print is revealed. I draw inspiration from the landscape, pathways, my garden and changing colour and light.
